Safaga's School for mentally handicapped children

The school for mentally handicapped children was established in Safaga 01.10.2010. present there are around 45 children at the school every day. And for the coming school year there have been a number of new children registered.
The school hopes to promote acceptance of people with a disability. Because at this moment a mental disability still causes people to be shunned by society in Egypt.
The school was set up by the Egyptian government, what is a great beginning... but unfortunately the budget is very minimal

A few months ago someone told us about the new school. And that maybe the school could use some help. The first visits to the school were even a bit shocking when you make comparison between the care for handicaped chilren at the Netherlands or Belgium.
What we've seen were empty classrooms with a number of tables and chairs, and a blackboard on the wall. almost no materials to undertake activities with the children. just some paper and some pens.
A large wall around the school and the place to play was a big sandplain.
We decided right away to help!

Our goal is to use this website to inform people about the projects which we will use to  collect money.

We want to help the school to complete the necessary equipment the school needs, and to   provide teachers multiple opportunities to do different activities with the children.

We do this without any self interest, and the income of the various projects will be 100% for the school.
We are: Sofie Deconinck, Nemo hotel, and Danielle Theunissen.
